WELL done to the council - county or local - and the Highways Agency for the wonderful use of taxpayers money in the various road-narrowing schemes in Kidderminster.
At a time when traffic flow should be increased and thus the pollution from cars going nowhere likewise reduced, the solution is to narrow the junctions of a host of minor roads in the area.
Once drivers could filter left or right if those going ahead had to wait. Now the reduced width of corners and the abolition of filter lanes means they now have to queue behind those going straight ahead just to get to the junction.
Thus, traffic backs up and in some places, like Park Street, the road is now so narrow that two cars cannot pass. So not only does Park Street traffic queue up but so does any traffic in Castle Road wishing to turn into Park Street.
