The group hosted the spring group meeting, at the Oaks Community Centre, Mustow Green.
Suzanne Owen, chairman of Worcestershire Federation, spoke of her first year in office, during which time she was interviewed on local radio and in the national press. When she took the position, she had been surprised to discover that WI House, Worcester, was among her responsibilities.
The guest speaker was Joy Pinder, a retired primary school head teacher from Birmingham, who talked about Lunch with the Queen.
When she received the first telephone call about the invitation, she thought it was a hoax and promptly put the phone down.
She told members about shopping for suitable clothes for the occasion, arriving at Buckingham Palace, conversing with the Queen about her school, meeting the royal corgis, and sitting next to the Duke of Edinburgh at lunch.
Following the talk, the Knight String Quartet played a selection of music.
