AN action group formed last year, led by district councillor Mike Oborski and involving the police, the housing company, social services and schools, has consulted extensively with residents.
The key message has been that more services are needed for youngsters so they don't resort to "hanging around" and causing a nuisance.
Councillor Oborski said: "We have had severe problems of nuisance and harassment caused by a small number of young people.
"The police have done a marvellous job with a crackdown and the use of ASBOs and that is proceeding.
"But local youngsters do have a very real point when they say that there isn't much for them to do around here and we have got to take that point on board.
"Now the housing company has come up trumps with a first rate package of improvements for Borrington Road playing fields," he added.
He said nearby residents would be consulted to ensure their privacy and security was maintained and moves were now under way to secure additional funding.
