A FORMER pupil of Swan Lane Primary School has earned selection for the Welsh Under-18 hockey squad.
Dan Packwood now plays for Stour-port, where he lives and studies, and he is looking forward to representing Wales in the European Eight Nations Championships in Poland in July.
The 17-year-old qualifies for the Welsh through one set of grandparents, although his father's parents, Dennis and June, still live in Evesham.
They will be best known for their time spent as landlord and landlady at The Bear and Golden Hart pubs and are understandably proud of their grandson's international call-up.
