A SUCCESSFUL Taster Day saw nearly 30 people take to the water at the Arden club in a sailing dinghy for the first time.
The weather was almost perfect with plenty of wind in the right direction and nobody got wet.
The instructors and rescue boat crews were on the water most of the day and were extremely tired after the session.
This probably contributed to the small turnout on Easter weekend when the three-race series saw the chocoholics on the water, with the single- handed Solos beating the double handed Enterprises for a change.
Ralph Evans dominated all three races. Second in all the races was another new Solo sailor Andrew Potts and third was the first Enterprise sailed by Stuart Stevens and daughter Caroline.
If anybody missed the Taster Day, there will be another on June 8 or just come and have a chat on Sunday afternoons. Alternatively, ring Ray on 01386 554109 or Helen (01905 23298).
