EVESHAM Wheeler Ben Stockdale won his first road race of the year racing at Hen-grove Park in Bristol last weekend.
The youngster, who has won his under-14 category several times, crossed the finish line of the 20K race ahead of the field which contained mostly under-16 riders to record a memorable victory.
Brother Tom also successfully competed the course.
Ben's recent good form has resulted in his selection for the British Cycling West Midland Division Under-14 team to compete in a stage race in Ireland in August.
The club staged its second evening Time Trial of the year last Wedn-esday.
The 15-mile undulating circuit of Bredon Hill attracted 13 riders on a cool and windy evening with a good representation of members from mountain bikers to comeback riders.
Top six times: Martin E Hall 39.50; Brian Newton 40.58; Adrian Mayhew 41.50; Richard Weaver 43.13; Martin P Hall 44.13; Steve McGrath 45.55.
The latest club run was led by Martyn Cole last through the picturesque Worcestershire lanes.
A second group led by Gordon Taylor took a similar route and met at the same place.
This Sunday's club run is to Long Compton.
Next Wednesday eve-ning there's a club ten-mile Time Trial at Teddington Hands starting at 7pm.
