I AM writing to you regarding the present state of the swimming pool at Evesham Leisure Centre.
In the 30 years since the pool was built on public donations and funds no improvements to the pool size has been made.
It has now got to the stage where nine times out of ten you cannot have a reasonable swim due to overcrowding.
The main problem is too many children. It is like a goldfish bowl at times and even on lone swims there are far too many people in the pool.
I and many other people find this situation intolerable and appalling.
When you consider the population increase of Evesham in the last 30 years and the obvious increase in the use of the pool I and others find the lack of development inexcusable and disgusting.
I sometimes wonder whether my £28 pm membership is worth it.
I have been told that the pool under council control and if this is true considering the massive council tax increases over the past few years why has none been invested in Evesham Swimming Pool.
Please don't use the development of Pershore as an excuse because it wont wash.
The minimum development needed is a childrens pool built on the adjoining lawn.
STEPHEN MARSHALL, Oak Tree Close, Evesham.
