YOUNGSTERS from the region who have made an outstanding contribution to their community could be in line for an award.
Police and education officials in Worcester are looking for worthy nominations to be entered in the Good Citizen of the Year accolade.
The judges for the scheme, which is run by West Mercia Police and is for under-18-year-olds only, are keen to hear about any young person who has performed a courageous or lifesaving act, or who has shown exemplary unselfishness in their attitude towards others.
"The Good Citizen awards have recognised some incredible acts of generosity by young people in the West Mercia force area since it was introduced in 1987," said Sgt John Dickinson.
"We are delighted to have this opportunity, each year, to reward those young people whose actions have made a difference to the lives of others."
Award ceremony
All the successful nominees will be invited to attend an award ceremony before the end of the summer term.
They will each receive a framed certificate and two finalists from each of the force's 10 areas will be invited to a gala ceremony at force headquarters at Hindlip Hall in October, where the overall winner will be announced.
To be eligible for nomination, all acts of good citizenship should have been carried out between June last year and this month. Small groups of no more than three people can also be nominated.
Application forms are available in all school and libraries and at the Evening News foyer and BBC Hereford and Worcester and BBC Shropshire.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday May 30.
