THE sale of goods in aid of Pauntley Church was most successful. This event was held under the Market Hall in Newent on St George's Day. Various items were on offer such as cakes, bric a brac and plants. A total of £102 has been paid to Pauntley Church Repair Fund. Thanks to all who donated and helped.
A very pleasant evening was held at Pauntley Memorial Hall in Brand Green on Wednesday, April 30. It was entitled A Pilgrimage to the end of the Earth. It was a presentation of an account of a cycle ride to Santiago de Compestela in Spain. Anthea Halland introduced the speaker who was John Read. Wine and nibbles were served during the evening and much appreciated. Mr Read was thanked by churchwarden Eric Solesbury. A profit of £159 was realised for Pauntley Church Repair Fund. Thanks to all who helped in any way.
There will be musical evening at St John the Evangelist Church on Friday, June 27, at 7.30pm. The tickets will soon be available and will cost £8 to include refreshments.
The service at the church on Sunday is at 10.15am and will be matins, conducted by Jill Bond. On May 18 the service of holy communion is at 11am.
Eric and Anne Solesbury invite you to Elm Grove, their lovely home and garden tomorrow (Saturday), 10.30am-noon. This is the annual spring coffee morning to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research in Cheltenham. Entry is just £1 to include coffee and biscuits. There will be various stalls and a competition. In fact something for everyone of all ages.
