UPTON was plagued by vandalism over the weekend as cars and shops suffered damage.
A bottle of pop was thrown threw the window of Rodney Hill opticians, on Old Street, overnight on Friday (May 2).
At about 1pm on Sunday, a young man was seen kicking the wing mirror off a Peugeot 405 at the junction of Old Street and Minge Lane, while an hour later damage was reported to cars on New Street.
Several youths were seen on the roof of a marquee at the King's Head just before 4pm on Sunday, but they had gone when police arrived. No damage was reported.
At around the same time, a glass door at Spar, on High Street, was smashed by 15-year-old boy wearing a blue tracksuit.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crimes to call them on 08457 444 888 quoting 42C030503 (optician's window) or 384S040503 (Spar).
