MALVERN Radar finished their season sharing the points with St Johns at Victoria Park last Sunday and can be well satisfied with their sixth position in the league.
MALVERN RADAR 3, ST JOHNS 3
The home side took the lead on 20 minutes when Lee Brookes received the ball 25 yards out. With his back to goal, he quickly swivelled and rocketed a great shot past Kevin Ingram in the Saints goal. It was soon 1-1 when Clive Jones found himself in an advanced position and his cross was bundled into his own net by the unfortunate James Curtis.
Saints took the lead just before half time when Steve Dunn weaved his way through Radar's hesitant defence and scored with a well placed shot.
The second half was rather mediocre and when John Ingles scored a deserved goal to put Saints 3-1 up they looked likely winners.
Radar gained some hope when Churchill crossed to the far post and Trevor Bagnall reacted quickly to turn the ball into the net from close range. With ten minutes remaining Nial Henderson equalised with a nicely controlled side foot volley from just inside the area.
On the whole another enjoyable season for Radar under Gary Harman's guidance and the majority of the players will be re-signing for next season
The highlight for the older players was probably against Oak Apple, when the combined age of the back four and keeper totalled over 200 and they won 3-2!
