SOUTH Worcestershire Primary Care Trust is to consider two further sites for relocating GP surgeries.
Plans to move the surgeries at Court Road and Victoria Park to Townsend Way caused a public outcry when they were revealed earlier this year.
Objectors said the proposed site was too far away from the communities the surgeries serve.
Now the trust is looking at Malvern Hills District Council's depot site on Pickersleigh Road and the former BMX track off North End Lane, owned by Worcestershire County Council.
This week, at its board meeting the trust agreed to work with county and district councils on the viability of these sites.
Results of the consultation should be reported back to the trust's next meeting on June 4.
The trust says that if a viable alternative is not identified, the Townsend Way site would remain its preferred option.
Gillian Goodlad, director of modernisation and primary care for the trust, said a recent travel survey at the GP practices showed 70 per cent of patients attended their surgery by car and 90 per cent were able to travel by bus unaided.
