WEST MALVERN 1,
HANLEY SWAN 2
WEST Malvern entertained Hanley Swan on Tuesday night in an exciting home league game.
Hanley were in front inside ten minutes but West Malvern drew level when a shot from Dan Sullivan was parried and Jon di Paolo blasted the ball home.
The second half was a ding-dong affair and the game was won in the last 15 minutes when a shot from the Hanley forward was deflected by Gary Portman past his own keeper.
The game was marred when the teams returned to find the dressing rooms had been broken into.
LAMB & FLAG 4,
WEST MALVERN 1
ON Saturday West Malvern travelled to Lamb & Flag only to find when they arrived the pitch had not been marked out and the referee would not play the game.
After the Lamb trying desperately to find another pitch they agreed to a 4pm kick off and returned to West Malvern.
The game opened fairly evenly and the Lamb and Flag were in front inside ten minutes. The West equalised after 25 minutes when Dan Sullivan drove home from the edge of the box.
The second half the Lamb were in front again with a defensive mix up resulting in the Lamb being awarded a penalty which they converted. They scored two further goals later in the match to run out convincing 4-1 winners.
This completed West Malvern's season which has been reasonable as they have finished within the top five. Once again Lee Tracey was the leading scorer with 30 goals including cup and league.
West Malvern would like to thank Amey for their sponsorship and also Anne and Reg at the Cross Keys for their hospitality.
West Malvern are arranging a social evening at the Cross Keys on Friday, June 27.
