Visitors to the Burgage Hall will be able to look back to the 1840s, at an exhibition staged by the Ledbury and District Society Trust.
Photographs of the town, some of which date from the early years of Queen Victoria's reign, are included in the exhibition on Saturday, May 17, from 11am to 3pm.
Documents on display include some bought at auction by Ledbury Town Council and acquired by the trust.
Visitors can handle photocopies of the original papers .
Documents include one from 1635 about the Lords of the Manor of Ledbury. Several 17th Century papers relate to the powerful Skipp family, of Upper Hall, and another document, dated to 1698, concerns the tolls of the three annual fairs.
A photographic record of Ledbury County Secondary School, for 1959 to 1978, is likely to be of particular interest, as is the photographic study of the town made during the Millennium Year.
