EXPRESS put in one of their most impressive displays of the season to lift the Bernard Finnegan Cup against a strong Blackpole side who pipped them to the league title by two points the previous week.
BLACKPOLE 1, EXPRESS 2 (after extra time)
Express put Blackpole on the back foot from the start and Neil Bond's wonder strike from 25 yards after 20 minutes put them one up.
A superb defensive display from Evans, Summers, Beale and Finch coupled with workaholic Andy Shepherd up front really had Express in pole position against a side they could not beat in the league. But as the second half wore on Blackpole pushed on and on to get the equaliser with 15 minutes remaining.
Captain Mark Taylor lead from the front in extra time alongside Scott Mason and the tireless Jamie Roberts who combined with Andy Shepherd to set Sean Clarke up for the winning goal with eight minutes left on the clock to bring the cup back to Malvern.
Special thanks to Anne and Gerry for the after match party, sponsors TWS Windows & PH Autos.
