WORCESTER Nomads Thirds were able to complete their scheduled Crusader Worcestershire County league fixture away to Colwall Thirds.
Bowling through some very damp conditions at Colwall, Nomads young U14 bowlers Allen James Smith and Josh Stafford, each taking a wicket, performed admirably and were well supported by old hands Ken Girling (3-44) and newcomer Martin Emson (3-11), with the result that Colwall were bowled out for only 145 .
In reply Nomads found the bowling of Kendall and Holland difficult to score off with the first 20 overs yielding only 45 runs. Two unfortunate run-outs dismissed young Geoff Taylor just as he was looking set and then Brown (27).
Thereafter the remaining younger batsmen found themselves bogged down on an increasingly slow wicket, although James Smith batted well for 16. Despite the late attempts to get the run rate moving, Nomads had to settle for a draw, finishing on 117-7.
