THE fine line between success and failure is the main lesson Ian Britton has learned during his first roller-coaster season in charge of Kidder-minster Harriers.
He guided them to 11th in the Nationwide League Division Three after they went into the closing stages of the campaign still in with a chance of making the play-offs.
For Kidderminster, who attract some of the lowest 'gates' in the Football League, it was a respectable end of season position, particularly in view of the Aggborough outfit's stiff financial constraints.
And for Britton it's been learning curve that he's convinced will stand him in good stead for next term.
He said: "I've learned a heck of a lot personally this season, certainly about the players we have had here. One thing I didn't perhaps appreciate about being a football manager before I took over was how fine the dividing line is between winning and losing.
"People focus on the Premiership and much pressure is on their managers in that league.
"I'm obviously not in a position to compare and contrast my job with theirs, but as many managers in this league will tell you, having absolutely no money to spend does make the job very difficult indeed. There's no room for manoeuvre and you are constantly juggling the finances all the time."
Meanwhile, Harriers are offering discounts on most 2003-04 season tickets bought before June 7.
They have yet to confirm seating arrangements for the new East Stand, but existing main stand season ticket holders have until May 31 to renew their seats after which they will go on general sale. Season tickets go on sale from Monday.
