REGARDING your story (Evening News, May 2) headlined "No-show patients should pay, say GPs", I agree.
However, has anyone ever tried to phone a surgery on the morning of an appointment in order to cancel it, because the plumber's late?
And waited, and waited, for someone to lift the phone?
By all means, fine feckless no-shows - providing we can fine those same GPs who make us wait ages because their appointment system is a joke, or the booking clerk forgot to put us in the book.
No? I thought not.
