VOLUNTEER workers paved the streets with gold to raise cash for a city-based charity at the weekend.
Glennis Campbell was one of 11 volunteers who lined up £1 coins, 20p pieces and 10p pieces outside of Worcester's Guildhall for Leukaemia CARE on Saturday.
Members of the public donated the money on the day and the total amount raised was around £2,000.
"It was absolutely fantastic," said network operations manager Eve Martin.
"Each year we run a similar event and each year we raise even more money than the last. A big thank you to the city of Worcester."
The coins snaked around the High Street, with four lines of £1 and eight lines of 20p pieces laid.
All the cash will support the 24-hour CARE line, which can be contacted on 0800 169 6680, and Worcester's branch of the charity, in Shrubbery Lane.
