A LONE protester turned up at Worcestershire County Cricket Club to express his opposition to the club hosting the Zimbabwe cricket team.
The club said it was not expecting mass protests, aimed at the Zimbabwe government of Robert Mugabe, but they still stepped up security at the New Road ground for the four-day game, which ends today.
Four extra security staff have been put on duty each day to make sure the players' area is secure.
West Mercia police said one protester was outside the ground on Saturday, but there were no problems.
"It was a very peaceful protest - he was very well behaved," said a police spokeswoman.
Worcestershire is traditionally the first county club to host the touring side before they embark on international matches.
The tour includes two Test matches and a triangular one-day tournament.
