ANOTHER rain-affected game did not go Kidderminster's way as they had a losing draw at Leamington in the Birmingham Cricket League Division One.
Despite some good bowling, the batting was made difficult by the weather.
Kidderminster won the toss and asked the home side to bat. They got off to a good start, scoring 64 before losing their first wicket.
But they then slid to 112-7. Their ninth wicket added 28, but although there were three interuptions for rain Kidderminster eventually bowled Leamington out for 172, Burn top-scoring with 69.
Ted Baylis' figures were 27-11-65-4 in an excellent spell. Marc Derrick conceded 57 runs off 17 overs, taking four wickets, and Jonathan Wright took 2-12 in 4.2 overs.
The rain reduced Kidderminster's chance of a win, but they had a poor start for the second week running.
Openers Mark Mansell and Jonathan Wright were out for 1 and 2 respectively. by the eighth over. Chris Jones scored 12 before being bowled, making it 15-3 after 10 overs.
Yet again Vic Lawes and Craig Wood steadied the boat. Lawes scored 43 and Wood 20, but both were out when the rain finally stopped play for good with the total on 83-4 after 31.4 overs.
Leamington took 10 points and Kidderminster six.
n Bromsgrove pulled off a tight 16-run victory at Kenilworth Wardens in Division One.
They totalled 189-6 in their 55 overs led by 85 from Paul Duffy, and then dismissed Wardens for 173 with just nine balls to spare, Kish Patel taking 5-42 and Nick Husbands 3-46.
