A 51-year-old bricklayer has been released on conditional bail by Redditch magistrates after being charged with grievous bodily harm and intimidation of a witness.
Peter Harris appeared in court on Monday, after an incident on Friday night in which his partner Julie Taylor, a 36-year-old care assistant from Leamington, fell from a second-floor window of his temporary guesthouse accommodation in Millsbro Road, Smallwood.
Prosecution counsel Owen Beale applied for Harris to be kept in custody, which magistrates refused.
Instead, Harris will have to live at his mother's house in Hyde, Cheshire, until he reappears at Redditch Magistrates Court on Monday.
Magistrates said he would not be allowed to contact Miss Taylor, who was described as being in a serious but stable condition after suffering a collapsed lung.
