IT seems strange to be writing a letter in praise of Redditch Council but someone in the depths of the town hall has seen fit to renovate and repaint the old lych gate in Rectory Road, Headless Cross, near St Luke's cottages.
It is now much more visible and is a credit to the area.
With all the alterations and demolition the town has suffered over the years, it is nice to see evidence of a little civic pride.
I hope the council, in conjunction with Local Plan No 3, will continue to value and maintain what is left of our local historical buildings.
