I CAN'T believe residents are protesting at the plans for a snowdome, ice rink and cinema at the Abbey Stadium (Advertiser, May 7).
What is it with some people? It sounds pretty selfish to me.
Yes, I'm sure there will be a little rubbish and noise around (they could always employ a litter picker) but entertainment such as this will boost Redditch.
Young people need things to do and places to go. Not everyone is happy to stay at home and watch TV or surf the net continually.
Ms Davies was quoted as saying: 'Most of the traffic will be for the snowdome and will be coming from outside Redditch'.
If a snowdome brings outsiders into the town, then great!
Do people want Redditch to be a ghost town where no-one else is allowed to enter?
One thing we should all remember is that life is for living - and that's not going to happen when the town we live in is dead.
And I would still vote for a proper live music/concert venue...
