SAVAGE beasts and noble savages was the title of the talk given by speaker Rose Morris on April 19.
Rose, who is the chairman of Cookhill and Studley Camera Club, shared her enthusiasm for filming nature, showing stunning slides of wild animals, birds, flowers and inhabitants of Tanzania, East Africa, which she had skilfully filmed on a recent visit.
At the second meeting in April, Mike Kettle made a welcome return, his subject being Wars in the Midlands
In 1642, a civil war began in the reign of Charles I, who believed in the rights of the monarch to rule as he saw fit - including raising money for his wars or for whatever reason.
Parliament, on the other hand, believed equally strongly in their right to approve or deny funds to the crown.
This was the reason for the outbreak of the conflict known as the English Civil War. Worcestershire was heavily involved and the Battle of Edghill on October 23, 1642 was the first major conflict of that war.
