MEMBERS met on May 1 to hear a very interesting talk by Wolff Wahle on his experiences as a German prisoner of war in camps in Europe and here in the Midlands.
He came to this country towards the end of the Second World War. Before that he was in Belgium. He tried to escape once but was caught.
Three years after the war was over he decided he would like to stay here. Later on one of the companies he worked for was in Redditch.
He learned to speak English while in a camp in Europe, which proved very useful to him later on.
