Three star
CHART friendly, guitar-led pop is the name of the game for the Busted boys who seem to be onto a winner with their refreshing style and skate sound.
Mixing fun, energy and the odd naughty word with a healthy dose of teenage angst has served them well, netting three hits in as many releases.
Busted's self-titled album opens with debut hit What I Go to School For, about the infamous Miss Mackenzie, teacher and subject of a schoolboy crush who crops up again in Loser Kid.
The song sets the pace for the rest of the album and the video sees the trio dressed in school uniform, a nod to Britney's Baby One More Time video, and in fact Britney herself is the subject of track three.
You Said No is their current chart success and Year 3000 was another hit, although not a personal favourite, while other highlights include All the Way and Psycho Girl.
Busted have had a sound crack at songwriting and come up with a great selection of tunes.
Their witty and sometimes cheeky lyrics set them apart from other 'boy bands' in the charts.
But to expand on this winning formula they need to steer clear of songs like the drippy and Westlife-esque ballad Losing You, which spoils the image they are trying to put across.
