GREG Thomas scored four and set up the fifth as Droitwich Spa 'A' made a successful defence of the Martley Cup.
Spa's 5-0 thrashing of Bransford Rovers at Worcester City's St George's Lane last Thursday secured their second piece of silverware in as many weeks following victory in the Bayliss Cup on Wednesday, April 30 at the same venue.
Playing against lower division opponents, Spa exerted their class from the first whistle with Thomas opening the scoring from 20 yards.
Mick Quinn should have increased Richard Goode's side's lead but he shot wide when well placed.
Spa's second came from a swift counter attack, started when Chris Hartshorne headed out a Rovers corner, and Garry Norris put Thomas through for a clinical finish.
In the second half Spa continued to play with control and confidence. Thomas was brought down in the penalty area, and he completed his hat-trick from the spot.
A surging run by Ben Pheasant put Thomas in for his fourth goal, making it 25 for the season in only 20 appearances.
Goalkeeper Simon Denby did not have a shot to save all game and any threat was thwarted by the ever-green sweeper Simon Holliday.
Substitute Aaron Parr rounded off the scoring with Spa's fifth goal after being set up the energetic man of the match Thomas.
