DEAR EDITOR -- National Bike Week organisers estimate that there are 10 million 'missing' cycles in the UK.
Worcestershire residents are being urged to find some of them in time for this year's Bike Week (June 14-22).
Retail sales figures and Government traffic statistics suggest that there must be millions of bikes stored in garden sheds, back yards and garages.
Many of these will require nothing more than a basic service to make them roadworthy - contact a local specialist bike shop for details. Free 'Dr Bike' cycle safety checks will be amongst the one thousand cycling events during Bike Week, encouraging people to re-start cycling and to make more short journeys by bike - including to work or education - instead of by car.
