THE octagonal 19th century counting house in Bromsgrove Cattle Market was to be moved in one piece to Avoncroft Museum of Buildings in Stoke Heath where it would be used as a ticket office. The town centre site had to be sold off to make way for a supermarket. The building dating from 1853 had been used by auctioneers for settling accounts with farmers.
MOTHERS at Lickey End in Bromsgrove joined in the call for the controversial M42 motorway to be built elsewhere than near the town. Their protest was made after it emerged the plan was for the creation of a five-acre lake behind the nursery in Littleheath Lane to take rainwater off the motorway. They said it was a danger for young children.
