TOWNSFOLK are being urged to go mellow-yellow next month and raise pots of cash for the Primrose Hospice.
Schools, businesses and clubs are also being invited to join in the fun, by hosting yellow events including daring to wear yellow, along with colour-coded competitions. Youngsters are taking part by growing their own sunflowers, which is the emblem of the Bromsgrove-based charity.
Running for the whole of June, Go Yellow Week is part of a national appeal to support hospices throughout the country.
One of the highlights of the event will be a Royal Ascot Ladies' Day at Grafton Manor on June 19. There will be a champagne reception followed by a three-course lunch and live coverage of all the races. Last year the event netted £3,500.
The following day is national hospice day and townsfolk can take 'Tea at Three' and make a donation to the St Godwald's Road centre.
Hospice community fundraiser Lyn Winters said: "This is a great way for the community to pull together and really make a difference, every penny counts.
"Please join in with Go Yellow and make a difference to our patients, and their families who care for them either at home or at the centre."
If anyone is interested in joining in the fun call Lyn on 01527 875444.
