Traffic chiefs keen to slam the brakes on speeding motorists have introduced new measures to catch offenders in villages near Bromsgrove.
The new flashing signs, which warn drivers they are exceeding the speed limit, are the first of their kind in Bromsgrove and have been placed at either end of Fairfield and in Stourbridge Road, Catshill. The £6,000 signs are activated when a speeding vehicle passes. A sign then flashes to warn the motorist they are driving too fast.
Jon Fraser, manager of the county council's highways partnership, said: "The signs have been in place for a week now but early indications show they have been successful."
