BROMSGROVE police are appealing for information after a woman and her two children were involved in a car crash where the driver of the other vehicle drove off.

The collision took place on the A448, between the Foxlydiate turning and Bromsgrove and involved a Rover 214, which was being driven by the woman with children, and a red Mitsubishi Shogun.

The driver of the Shogun, registration J551 UBH, stopped but when the woman asked the man for his details, he drove off. The incident took place on Sunday, May 4, at around 10.45am.

An ambulance was called for the two small children and they were taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch where they were treated and discharged.

It is believed that just prior to the collision with the Rover, the Shogun was parked part on the grass verge and half in a lane with another vehicle, possibly a blue Ford Escort.

The driver of the blue car appeared to be having a disagreement with the driver of the Shogun. There were three or four white males in the Escort.

PC Anthony Paxton, from the Bromsgrove Response Unit, said: "I obviously need to speak to the driver of the Mitsubishi Shogun but would also like to speak to the occupants of the Escort, as they may have vital information.

"We have already carried out a number of inquiries with our colleagues in the West Midlands but would like to hear from anyone who has any information. They can contact me on 08457 444 888." Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
