A Bromsgrove high school is set to become one of the first in the country to use an interactive website to improve communications between pupils, parents and teachers.

Staff at South Bromsgrove High School, in Charford Road, will soon be able to communicate on-line with parents about the development of their children.

Thanks to the new site, created by Leamington-based IT firm Sincordia, parents will receive live and instant information and greater accessibility into the education of their children.

Staff at the school are hoping the site will be well received when it is launched for the new intake of students in September.

Phil McTague, the school's head, said: "We wanted to offer an interactive website that would be a vital communication channel, not only with our pupils, but with our teachers and parents as well.

"We researched a number of websites and were attracted by the professional quality of school websites operated by Sincordia."

The specialist technology college hopes to integrate the website with an SMS text messaging service in the near future to help inform all those people who have an interest in the school.

Simon Lavin, of Sincordia, said: "The website we have developed with South Bromsgrove High School is much more than a static information source.

"The site is able to offer teachers a comprehensive method for keeping track of their departmental obligations, in addition to allowing parent's access to ongoing projects and even homework applicable to their offspring."
