Following the success of the Women's Seven-a-Side tournament at Frankwell, Shrewsbury, in Sunday 9th March, a women's county summer league has been arranged with the Shropshire FA, Sports Partnership and Shrewsbury Leisure to see what interest we have in the county, in the hope of setting up a county league for 2003/04 season.
All teams are welcome, but players must be 14 plus.
The venue for the tournament will be the Roman Road Sports Centre, Shrewsbury, every Thursday between June 5 - August 14 from 7 - 10pm
"Whether you are a new up-and-coming club or you are in a current league, this league will cater for you. Trophies will also be awarded, ! a spokesman for the organisers said.
For information on how to enter a team into the summer league, please contact Eve Bailey, Girls & Women's Football Development Officer on 01743-255083. or e-mail eve.bailey@shropshire-cc.gov.uk for application forms. The cut-off date for entering a team will be Friday, May 23.
