A POLITICAL thriller, set in 10 Downing Street, is being presented by the Hatherley Players at the Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham from Saturday May 17 to Saturday, May 24.
Dead Ringer, by Charles Ross, examines how far ambitious politicians might go to retain their hold on the reins of government. When the Prime Minister dies just days before the General Election his Cabinet colleagues bring in a "ringer" to take his place until the election is won. Will the impostor manage to deceive not just the country, but the PM's family and innocent associates? All is never as it appears when everyone has his own agenda. Double-dealing, secrets and blackmail abound and the plot surprises to the very end.
Performances are at 7.45pm. Box Office: 01242 522852.
