WITH Worcester Norton's women's first team having qualified for the National League, the spotlight falls on the second team in their bid to gain Midland League status.
As one Worcester team leaves the Midland League at the top, the hope is that another enters at the bottom.
The crucial play-off against Bournville has been postponed a number of times because of the first team's involvement in the National League play-offs and the U18 team's run to the semi-final of the National Cup competition.
It will now be played tonight at 8pm at King Edward's School, Birmingham.
Norton qualified for the play-off by storming to the Worcestershire Division One title with a maximum 27 points from their last nine games which took them three points clear of runners-up Bromsgrove and five ahead of Stourport in third place.
Bournville are in the play-offs through being in one of the relegation slots in the Midland League. Redditch are already relegated to the Worcestershire League having lost to Bournville.
While a number of the first team squad take a well-earned rest to enjoy their achievements, several of the squad will be involved against Bournville.
Julie Harwood, Sonia Morgan, Jenny Rogers, Jackie Russell and Charlotte Tysler have to raise themselves for one more effort for the season but they will be inspired by their performances in Manchester.
Lucy Tyrrell and Lora Symonds have just returned from Holland with the successful Midlands U15 team at the Valkenswaard international tournament and will be anxious to add another trophy to their season's list.
It will be an historic occasion if both the top two Worcester women's teams, having both won their leagues, now win their play-off competitions.
