The chosen film on Tuesday is Croupier, directed by Mike Hodges, who also directed Get Carter.

This is a depiction of the bitter desperation which underlies Britain's casino world. Clive Owen plays a man who decides to learn how to be a croupier and soon gets sucked into the dangerous, fantasy-fuelled games, which seem to be an integral part of big money gambling.

This 1998 film, which starts at 7.30pm at Kidderminster Library, lasts one hour 34 minutes.
