IN a busy week for Badsey youth cricket, the Under-13s began their Worcestershire League campaign at Old Elizabethans.
Despite losing opener Michael Powell early on, Badsey scored a respectable 102-4 from 20 overs, thanks mainly to Nick Powell (31), Jamie Anderson (25) and Steve Bosworth (23).
Elizabethans were never in the hunt and finished on 38-8 from 20 overs.
Michael Tomkinson was the pick of the bowlers with 4-8 off four overs, with Badsey coming out winners by 64 runs.
In the Cotswold Hills League, both Under-12s and 14s had comfortable victories against Bredon.
The 12s scored 269-5 in the pairs game with identical twins Michael (18) and Andrew (15) Tomkinson top scoring.
Tight bowling then restricted Bredon to 221-5 for a 48-run victory.
The Under-14s won their first league game of the season by 31 runs.
Tight opening spells by Nick Powell and Sam Thomson meant the Bredon innings failed to get any momentum as they finished on 229-4.
Badsey's response was well paced and sensible as they scored 260-2 with Adam Westmacott (20) and Ben Thould (14) top scoring.
