A YOUNG Kidderminster girl is stepping out with her sister and cousins for a fun run in memory of her aunt.
Georgina Ryan, 12, from Somerleyton Avenue, has organised the run at Wyre Forest Visitors Centre, Bewdley, with her cousins Sinead Thomas, 13, and eight-year-old Fran from Wollaston, Stourbridge, and her two-year-old sister Molly.
They will set off on Sunday on a 5.2km sponsored run in memory of 40-year-old social worker Helen. She died of a brain aneurysm after a three-week illness last year.
"Helen's Birthday Fun Run" is all the girls' own idea and they've arranged sponsorship to raise cash for the Dreams Come True charity, which grants the wishes of sick youngsters.
They will be joined by friends from Georgina's school, Hagley RC.
"They wanted to do something Helen would have been proud of," said Pete Ryan, Georgina's dad and Helen's brother.
"The whole family have missed Helen very much. She will always be remembered for her kindness and support for others."
