THE outdoor season got under way with Linda Haines in tremendous form, winning the first two away shoots.
Cheltenham Archers' Easter Bunny tournament hosted a field of 100 archers out of which six Evesham members were in action.
Haines won her first away shoot taking the ladies' recurve trophy with a score of 538. Lisa Illingworth finished second with Worcester County champion Barbara Stanway in third.
Malcolm Porter (569) shot well to take the second place medal in the gents' recurve with and Ian Trout (546) finished top limited compound competitor.
Lindsay Gwilliam, shooting his first competition for six years, was happy with a top ten finish in the gents' recurve.
The County of Warwick Field Championships took place at Hanbury with Haines again in top form to claim the ladies Open Championship. Trout also shot well to take the Limited honours.
With five Evesham archers already selected for county duty, the trial held at Badsey was a chance for Haines to win one of the few remaining places.
In far from perfect conditions, she claimed her place alongside Stanway, Illing-worth, Simon Tarplee, Malc-olm Porter and Jacquie Williams.
