IF you missed the Malvern Spring Gardening Show last weekend, you can buy your bargain bedding plants at the plant sale in Powick Parish Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 9am-noon. All proceeds will go to Powick Playing Field Association.

If you have already planted your flower beds, why not discover the area around Cradley by joining Powick Ramblers' walk tomorrow, meeting at Cradley at 10am for a five-mile ramble led by David Allen.

At the family service in St Peter's Church last Sunday morning, baby Dylan Matthew Lippett was baptised and welcomed into the church. His grandparents Eileen and Keith Godwin live at Bastonford. The Rev David Nichol took the service and the reading was by Sally Gurney, prayers were led by Lyn Snook and Lyndall Brown played the organ.

Members of 1st Powick Brownies took part in a litter-pick last Friday around the parish hall and the playing field. They found enough litter to fill one large plastic sack but it consisted of small items of plastic, crisp packets and sweet wrappers. Tomorrow, 17 of them are joining Brownies from the whole of Worcestershire for a visit by coach to Legoland. Next Friday, May 23 the Brownies will be going for a walk over fields, woods and stiles hoping to hear the cuckoo!

The annual parish meeting of Powick Parish Council takes place on Wednesday at the hall from 7.30pm. Come and meet your parish councillors and hear about all the activities in and around the parish. All are welcome.
