THE new keep fit classes, which Joy Pearman is running (in addition to the Pilates session) started on May 12. They will take place on Monday afternoons at 2pm, a time which will hopefully attract some of the more senior members of the community. The cost will be £21 for the six-week term, or £4.50 per week. Pilates will continue in the hall as usual on Wednesday evenings at 6.45pm.

Anyone who did not hear Sue Black and her four friends on Saturday missed a treat! Kate and David Bennett, Tim Cranmore and accompanist Geoff Kerr joined Sue for an evening of opera, operetta, songs from Gershwin shows, the Mikado and much more. Their humour and enthusiasm made for a truly Enchanted Evening.

The chairman of the hall committee is anxious that younger residents of the village should consider joining the committee to replace a number of long-serving members who are retiring. The demands of work and family make it more difficult for people who are not yet retired to take on this sort of thing, but the hall is now such an asset and the centre for all that goes on in the village that it would be a pity to lose the momentum. Please think carefully as to whether you could offer your services in this way. Neville Shorrick would be pleased to hear from you on 633475.

A reminder to Garden Club members about the evening visit to Cinderdine Cottage, Dymock on May 21. We are meeting there at 7pm.

Last but by no means least, the spring fair on May 3 made the sum of £267 for hall funds.
