QUILT makers from all over the world were expected to descend on Malvern this weekend for Quilt UK.
The show, based at the Three Counties Show-ground, will see the country's top quilters battling it out for prestigious prizes.
Categories range from king-size quilts that would cover a double bed to miniature versions designed to hang on a wall.
Judges will also assess varying styles, from the traditional to computer-modelled, and whether the finished article has been hand or machine-stitched.
"These things are works of art," said exhibition manager Iain Walker. "They're beautifully made and there are some incredible skills shown."
Trade stands featuring everything from needles and thread to the latest high-tech sewing machines will also be on show.
The event runs until Sunday and is open from 10am to 5pm.
