THE year-long appeal to raise funds for the Anajali School in Nairobi, Kenya, comes to an end with a church service in Upton.
The parish church appeal has raised almost £9,000 and on Sunday, Rev Cyprin Yobera, co-founder of the school, will give a talk on how the money has been used.
Appeal organiser Lambert Bignall said the success of the campaign had exceeded his wildest expectations.
"So many people have been involved and not only the people in the deanery but industry and commercial as well as the schools," he said.
"We have had nothing but support for the project."
So far, the money has been used to build a headmaster's house in the school grounds, adding security, repairs to classrooms and building a garden.
The service is at 3pm in the parish church. A concert in aid of the appeal held on Saturday, raised a total of £267.
