With regard to Jill Jupp and David Turner's letters (Your Letters, May 2), Jill Jupp wants the Market House to be "a building used by community groups, weddings and for other functions". I personally think the community hall is an ideal place for community groups, and All Saints' Church is ideal for weddings. Is Jill Jupp trying make these buildings redundant?
I think the two-storey Market House should be used for markets, and it is, on the ground floor.
As for David Turner suggesting Ledbury could "become a flagship leading many towns with similar problems", we are actually in great danger of becoming the guinea pig rather than the flagship.
How many English Heritage sites are being radically altered to support the DDA? I would prefer to see the Market House left as the icon of Ledbury rather than the eyesore of the next generation.
