YOUR story 'American collects car after 30 years' (Gazette, May 2).
It's a shame he didn't live in the German Democratic (Communist) Republic. A Trabant ordered in 1969 would have been ready within ten years. It's a much more useful car than a Morgan - it has four seats, a luggage boot and a roof to keep the weather out.
It's a much safer car too - it can't go much above 60mph.
COLIN ALTEN (formerly of Malvern), Luebeck, Germany.
