MALVERN will be taking part in an international theatre smash hit when An Inspector Calls.
The classic quasi-whodunit has entertained audiences around the world ever since it was written by J B Priestley in 1947.
This Royal National Theatre Production was first performed in 1992 and has collected 19 awards in the past 11 years.
Since he finished work on the production, show director Stephen Daldry has gone on to bigger things.
He received an Oscar nomination for his debut movie Billy Elliot in 2001 and repeated the short listing for his latest film, The Hours, last year.
With its impressive set, stirring score and moving staging, the perfect, intense atmosphere is created for this tale of intrigue.
Inspector Goole, played by Nicholas Day, calls unexpectedly at the household of wealthy businessman Arthur Birling (David Roper).
The inspector delves into the murky history of a young woman, with links to the family, who has committed suicide.
With Priestley's incisive script and Daldry's intrepid direction, audiences should be engrossed by this classic.
An Inspector Calls runs at Malvern Theatres from Monday, May 26 to Saturday, May 31. Performances begin at 8pm with 2.30pm matinees on Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets cost from £18 to £8.
