PUPILS from The Chase, in Malvern, completed a 45-mile hike in 24 hours.
Two teams of six were among hundreds taking part in last weekend's Ten Tors challenge, which saw them cross Dartmoor, fording rivers and navigating by moonlight.
Ollie Pountney, Sam Knight, Rory Holmes, John Singleton, Kit Wrightson, and Ben Martin completed the course in the allotted time. Alec Bond, Jo Yorke, Catherine Bounds, John Herbert and Eli Piercy also managed it, but fellow team member Tom Barton-Humphreys had to retire on medical grounds.
Derek Moss, head of outdoor pursuits, said he was proud of the pupils as the course was the toughest he had seen in 19 years.
