STUDENTS at The Chase arrived in a parade of vehicles at their leavers' prom as they concluded their time at the school.
A cavalcade of stretched limousines, Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, vintage cars, an articulated lorry and a horse and carriage drew up to a red carpet outside the Geraldine Road college.
Meanwhile, a helicopter landed on the school field to drop off a quartet of young men keen to arrive with extra aplomb.
In total, around 230 Year 11 students and 20 staff dressed themselves up and filled the hall for an evening of music and dancing, interrupted by a prize-giving ceremony for categories ranging from best-dressed to most considerate person.
A ball committee was specially formed to plan the event, with a bit of help from the sixth-form charity committee.
Chase deputy head Annie Williams said the event, on Thursday (May 8), had flown by.
"It was the best we've ever had, it took them an hour to get in. We had so many parents and well wishers outside, it was a spectacle," she said. "They certainly ended their time on a high."
